St Ives
St Ives is said to have a unique quality of light that has long drawn artists looking to capture its glowy, romantic haze. Today, this seaside town's artistic legacy lives on through galleries including the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden, The Tate, and the New Craftsman showcasing the works of the late John Miller. The five beaches that have inspired artists throughout history now also draw surfers and sunbathers, while foodies, too, are spoiled for choice with ice cream parlours and artisan coffee shacks, vegan hangouts and Michelin star seafood.

Recommendations
Follow the 12-mile circular trail between St Ives and Zennor, a tiny inland village, and admire views of the wild and rugged coastal headlands.
Surf on the Blue Flag-rated Porthmeor beach, or hire a stand up paddleboard (SUP) from the watersports centre on Porthminster Beach (on the harbour side of St Ives town).
- Take a boat trip from St Ives’ harbour to Seal Island to spot some seals and see the coast from a different perspective.
