Recommendations

  • Explore the Grande Île, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the historic centre of Strasbourg, and marvel at the huge, asymmetrical Gothic cathedral. You'll also find the intricately carved Kammerzell House and the grand Palais Rohan nearby, as well as Place Kléber, Strasbourg’s largest square.

  • Join a boat tour through the meandering waterways around Strasbourg and admire the city from a different perspective.

  • Take a walk through the Parc de l'Orangerie and relax by the lake, or wander through stunning, well-kept gardens. Keep an eye out for storks; they're the symbol of the Alsace region yet they were nearly extinct by the early 1970s. A succesful breeding programme that began here has seen nearly 800 stork births since 1971.
