Visit the island of San Francesco, which is home to a peaceful monastery. The beautiful gardens and Medieval cloisters are a lovely spot for an afternoon walk.
Travel by boat to the island of Sant'Andrea, a ruined 17th-century fort. It's a great place for a walk and a picnic.
The Collezione Peggy Guggenheim comprises some of the most important European and American modern art of the twentieth century. It's housed in the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, Peggy Guggenheim's former home, and you can see works by Modernist masters like Kandinsky, Picasso and Pollock as well as regular exhibitions revealing the lesser-known painters and sculptors represented in the collection.

Stroll along the Ponte Vecchio, the historic bridge that spans the river Arno. Take your time to pop in and out of the local shops and restaurants that line the main walkway, and pause to admire the fantastic views of the river.
One of the world's most iconic museums, the Uffizi is a treasure trove of masterpieces from the Renaissance to the present day. Exploring its galleries, you'll come across the likes of Botticelli, Giotti, Caravaggio, Piero della Francesca and Filippo Lippi, among many, many others.
No visit to Florence is complete without catching a glimpse of Michaelangelo's David. Seeing him in person is a completely different experience to just looking at pictures – you'll undoubtedly observe the inconsistency in the size of his feet and limbs! You can of course see a replica of the masterpiece in the Piazza della Signori, but the original is now housed in the Galleria dell’Accademia.

Rome
Ancient ruins, Classical architecture and a world-leading film scene make the Italian capital a haven for anyone with an interest in history and culture. Feel the pulse of the city in busy piazzas and uncover the essence of "La Dolce Vita" (filmed in Rome in 1960) from a pavement café or late-night gelateria.

Get lost in Rome's web of cool, cobbled streets. Every corner presents a new postcard-worthy scene.
