Geneva
Sandwiched between Lac Léman and the Alps, Geneva boasts spectacular landscapes whichever way you turn. Its first-class scenery is matched by an array of elegant chocolate shops, glamorous boutiques and Michelin-star restaurants, while the bohemian Les Grottes neighbourhood speaks to Geneva's lesser-known countercultural roots.

Marvel at the view from the rooftops of the Duomo di Milano – the largest church in Italy. No visit to the city is complete without experiencing this iconic cathedral, built over centuries in an overwhelming mix of grand Gothic styles.
One of the most iconic artworks of all time, Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper is one of Milan's must-see attractions. The painting is still in its original position, painted on the wall of the Santa Maria della Grazie convent building, which is now part of the Museo del Cenacolo Vinciano.
Hit the shops in Europe's fashion capital. The beautiful Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping centre is home to a vast range of clothes shops, including the original Prada store, which is one of the most notable landmarks in Milan.
Naples
Naples is a Roman city with a captivating history and strong identity (not to mention the proud birthplace of Pizza). Unpolished yet authentic, prepare to be astonished as you explore this ancient city, where ramshackle alleyways give way to opulent arcades, and behind graffiti-covered doors lie tranquil stained-glass monasteries.

Positano
The jewel in the Amalfi Coast, Positano is a clifftop town cradled by the Lattari Mountains. Pink and peach houses climb its verdant hillside and steep, narrow streets and stairways string together chic boutiques, luxurious villas, and fine seafood restaurants.

- Grab your towel and hit the sand - Spiaggia Grande, Positano’s main beach, is a famous spot, but there are plenty more secluded coves and bays a short bus journey along the coast.
- Taste some of Italy’s finest seafood at one of Positano’s long-established restaurants - most fish on offer has been caught on the day.
- Hike the Path of the Gods, a 4km rocky path that winds up the cliff to the village of Bomerano. We’ll recommend our favourite cafe stops.

Sorrento
Perched across the razor-sharp cliffs that overlook the sweep of Naples' bay, Sorrento is a historic resort town and gateway to the Amalfi region. Its cascading cliffside silhouette is made up of tangled cobbled streets and fragrant lemon groves, boasting the best sunset views from the Sorrentine Peninsula.

- Walk up to Chiostro di San Francesco, a tranquil 14th century monastery next to Villa Comunale park, and soak up magnificent views of the coast, particularly at sunset.
Take a scenic walk to Chiostro di San Francesco next to Villa Comunale park, a tranquil 14th-century monastery covered in a shroud of greenery. Explore the grounds and soak up the magnificent views of the coast from the rooftop. We recommend planning your visit to get there in time to watch the sunset.
Take on the cliffs that surrond Sorrento and embark on a hike. For an easy-going hike with beautiful views of the Amalfi Coast, check out The Path of Gods, or if you prefer a challenge take on Sorrento's Mount Faito.

Often considered the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is a city shaped by the master artists, writers and philosophers of the period. Today this can be seen in Florence's preserved historic architecture, monuments and iconic galleries, with the entire city declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.

One of the world's most iconic museums, the Uffizi is a treasure trove of masterpieces from the Renaissance to the present day. Exploring its galleries, you'll come across the likes of Botticelli, Giotti, Caravaggio, Piero della Francesca and Filippo Lippi, among many, many others.
Eating vegan in Florence is easier than you might think. Enjoy plant-based takes on traditional Italian dishes, raw-food restaurants, and gorgeous patisseries. There are even vegan supermarkets where you can stock up on goodies.
No visit to Florence is complete without catching a glimpse of Michaelangelo's David. Seeing him in person is a completely different experience to just looking at pictures – you'll undoubtedly observe the inconsistency in the size of his feet and limbs! You can of course see a replica of the masterpiece in the Piazza della Signori, but the original is now housed in the Galleria dell’Accademia.
MilanLugano
Lugano
The biggest city in the Ticino Canton region, Lugano feels significantly more Italian than it does Swiss. The town enjoys a fine location at the foothills of the Alps, with the peaks of Monte Brè and Monte San framing the banks of the city's glacial lake.

Lugano Dante
Recommendations
For a relaxing way to take in the spectacular mountain scenery, take a boat trip out onto Lake Lugano. Choose between gastronomic tours, a multi-stop daytrip or a fully electric scenic ride.
Take a gentle wander along the Olive Tree Grove Trail which passes through the remains of ancient olive trees as well as newly planted trees have been reintroduced.
The best way to experience Monte Bré is to take the funicular to the top. From here you can choose between a range of hikes around the summit and in the surrounding woodlands.
From Cassarate on the edge of the city, board the funicular up to the peak, changing at Suvigliana. Once you've reached the top, enjoy the views over a drink and bite to eat from the roof terrace of the Osteria Funicolare restaurant. If you're feeling adventurous, you could hire mountain bikes from one of the many rental shops at the summit before heading back down on the funicular.
The walk back down to Lugano is around 5km.
Zürich
At the northern tip of the lake that shares its name, Zürich is Europe's leading economic hub. However, scratch beneath the surface of Zürich's financial reputation and you'll find an attractive Altstadt (old town) and, to the west, a post-industrial district filled with cool bars, art collectives and fashion upstarts.

Recommendations
Climb Zürich's mountain, Uetliberg, which towers an impressive 850m high and offers great views of the city and its lake. There are hiking and biking trails here, and you can also book tobogganing and paragliding.
For a wonderful way to see the city, take to the water. Head out on a boat trip on Zürichsee, the city's namesake lake, or a flat bottomed boat tour of Limmat river from Landesmuseum station.
Get lost in infinity or dance on the ceiling at the museum of immersive optical illusions. One of Zürich's zaniest attractions, the WOW Museum will appeal to kids of all ages (and adults young at heart).

Paris
Effortlessly chic and elegant, France’s capital is bursting with iconic architecture and brimming with artistic legacy. Beyond the hustle and bustle of boulangeries, world-renowned galleries and alfresco café culture, the city’s majestic parks make the perfect place to relax.

Take a trip out to the Jardin Albert Kahn and immerse yourself in orchards, rose gardens and forests that combine French, Japanese and English garden design. They were originally created by banker Albert Kahn before the Wall Street Crash, after which he lost his bank and his fortunes – including this garden.
Wander through Montmartre and make the climb up to the famous Sacré-Cœur Basilica. Be sure to linger over the spectacular view at the top; at sunset, you'll get the best light as the sun dips below the city skyline.
Paris has no shortage of tempting shops, from independent clothing boutiques to sprawling department stores. Don't miss the opportunity to browse the bouquinistes, open-air booksellers on the banks of the Seine, or indulge at the Galeries Lafayette, the luxurious French department store.
